Veterinary Technician of the Year
The MOVTA Veterinary Technician of the year Award was created to honor, recognize and encourage outstanding service in the veterinary technician profession. This honor will be awarded annually to one technician within the state who exemplifies professionalism, expertise, and compassion in our field. This individual has shown outstanding leadership, dedication to animal welfare, and has gone above and beyond the call of duty in the veterinary technician profession.
The award will consist of a certificate presented at the annual MOVTA conference, $100, and a complementary MOVTA membership for the next membership year. All nominations will be reviewed by the MOVTA board and remain confidential. The award recipient will receive a copy of his/her letters of nomination and the letters may be published in the MOVTA Newsletter.
Eligibility requirements:
- Veterinary Technician licensed in the state of Missouri.
- Active member in good standing with the MOVTA
- The nominee cannot be a current MOVTA executive member.
Nominees will be considered based on:
- State and local animal care activities, community service
- Contributions to technician advancement
- Published materials, project presentations, and special achievements
- Leadership positions held
Nominations forms must be submitted along with the following minimum requirements
- One letter of recommendation from two RVTs, or
- One letter of recommendation from both a DVM and RVT.
Only nominations that have followed and met the above criteria will be considered. Completed nominations must be received by August 31st of each calendar year.
